In Episode 12 of Trinity Blood
While Lady Caterina is waiting for a meeting with an Imperial Messenger, an explosion occurs in the complex, prompting fears of an assassination attempt. Ion Fortuna, the Imperial Messenger and the Earl of Memphis, attempts to deliver the message to Lady Caterina, but is mistaken for the assassin and shot by Tres before escaping. At Caterina's request, Abel goes to find him to arrange another meeting. When Abel reaches Ion's hiding place, he finds Sister Esther there to capture Ion. To her dismay, Abel slaps her and sternly rebukes her for disobeying his direct order. As he negotiations with Ion and his companion Radu, they find themselves under attack by the Inquisition department.
